Yelaman Muqtarhan bases her work "A chance to stay alive" on archival photos from the East Turkistan region, filling the background and faces with a light-green color of facial recognition system frames, which are used for monitoring and classifying people, as well as for conducting repressions, tracking and persecution of Uyghur and Qazaq people in the region.
